Frequent questions
A 3D PDF data sheet of a specific product with its special technical data and a 3D presentation can be created (generated) in the CAD portal and downloaded. The following steps are necessary to do this:
1) Select the product – exact variant – in the CAD portal from Micromat.
2) Via “Step 2: Generate PDF data sheet” generate the desired 3D PDF from the CAD model. This can take some time. In the meantime you can execute other actions on the CAD portal (see note).
Important: You must log in to the CAD portal for this process.
3) You can download the 3D PDF data sheet either using the window “Actions” in the right column of the CAD portal or simply using “Step 3: Download already generated CAD model”. Here you recognize the 3D PDF data sheets by the type PDF as opposed to CAD for any possible CAD models already existing, which are available to you for download from prior actions.
3D PDF data sheets are also, as the generated CAD models, automatically deleted after a certain time.
For example, we have generated a 3D PDF data sheet for the double-acting block cylinder (piston diameter 20mm, stroke: 50mm) in the CAD portal and made available on our company website for you to view.
The CAD portal from Micromat is currently still in construction. You can now already find all items (products with variants) in the product showcase on the company website. Required technical data and item information (e.g. item number, variants, custom designs) can be downloaded from the respective PDF links of the products.
As soon as a product is integrated with variants in the CAD portal, you will find a link (“To CAD portal”) from the company website on the corresponding product variants in the CAD portal. From the company website you can change directly to the corresponding product in the CAD portal using the link “CAD” in the item table.
Not always all the numerous variations / custom designs of a product of a specific series are shown in the item tables on the company website. This applies especially to the block cylinder.
For reasons of simplicity they are not shown in the company presentation. All item variants for each product can be found under the link “PDF from printed catalog” on the detail page of the product as well as in the CAD portal. In the CAD portal you can generate the various custom designs and variants through configuration of the products and call up the desired CAD data in the correct CAD format.
Registration is required by Cadenas, the owner of the CAD portal, to prevent spam downloads and misuse. The registered use can determine up to 10 desired CAD formats with the type of provision of the CAD data (email delivery or download) and use for later visits to the CAD portal.
During the generation of a CAD model of a special product, all setting for CAFD formats and the type of provision are accounted for and made available appropriately for download or sent via email.
Already generated CAD data is saved every so often for registered users and can later me again called up.
As soon as you are logged in to the CAD portal, you can order the desired CAD format as email delivery in the left column via “CAD formats” and the following action “+ add CAD format”.
Important: In order that the action(s), which were saved under CAD formats, is (are) executed, next the CAD model of the selected item must be regenerated (designated as Step 2: Generate CAD model“). After this the desired email delivery is automatically made.
You can request the desired CAD data in the product showcase on the Micromat company website using the column “CAD” in the item table. After selection of the desired CAD format, in the order form, you are automatically sent the CAD data per email.
A quote for a special item can be requested on the Micromat company
- website using the contact form per email or on the CAD portal under
- “Request for quote” for a
special item.
You can order the catalog by post under “Request catalog” or download the part catalog there as a PDF.
In addition to the CAD data of a product, the CAD portal offers various additional technical data and presentations in the window “CAD model preview”.
Among other things you will find available here
- an animated 3D view (preview also linked to the company website),
- additional technical dimension drawings
- Product information
- 3D PDF representation (not yet available at this time)
Important: If an item is selected, first the CAD model must be generated (“Step 22: Generate CAD model” in the CAD portal), so that the additional presentations in the preview match this selected item.
As soon as you are logged in to the CAD portal, you can order the desired CAD format to download in the left column via “CAD formats” and the following action “+ add CAD format”.
Important: In order that the action(s), which were saved under CAD formats, is (are) executed, next the CAD model of the selected item must be regenerated (designated as Step 2: Generate CAD model). Only then are the CAD data provided for download.
The CAD data are compressed (zip) for the download and can be opened again (unzip) with the appropriate program.
A download of the CAD data in the CAD portal is only possible for an already generated CAD model. If you select a new item, you must first generate the CAD model in order to receive the correct CAD data.
If you order the CAD data from the Micromat company website, this step is omitted and you must only select the desired CAD format in the order form.
On the Micromat website you can download the respective product description from the product showcase as PDF.
Yes. You only have to register once at Cadenas and can use the identical login data for the different CAD portals of the manufacturer.
Only a pre-generated standard CAD model of the item variants is available in the CAD portal.
The special dimensions of a selected item (item table, variable view) is only integrated into the standard model after regenerating the CAD model (Step 2 in the CAD portal). Only then do the presentations of the “Preview of the CAD model” match the special, selected item.
If you want to see the preview of a special item from the item table, you must regenerate the CAD model (Step 2: Generate_CAD_model).
Otherwise the standard preview of the item is shown in the preview and not the special characteristic of the selected item.
